Family Reunion, Part 3 of 4
I feel I owe apologies and explanations here. Although there’s still another page coming, this was the last one completed, after numerous rewrites, and every rewrite meant I needed to layout, draw, ink, letter, and color all over again. Simply put, my hand and eyes are tired, and there are probably numerous mistakes here.
It also means that instead of one page, you’re kind of getting one and a half. Sam’s lines are from an earlier draft, and combining them was just easier than starting the process all over again.
The sloppiness that’s unforgivable is the lettering. If I expect you guys to read this stuff, then I should at least make it legible. But Dean’s speech to Baby is in small, cramped words and bubbles because I misjudged how much space I had.
“Hey, Baby. Heh, you know, this is the perfect opening for a joke about you being topless, but … *sigh*
“I’ve never really liked drop tops; it’s like half a car. Gunmen have a clear shot at your head, monsters could just leap into the backseat and attack, the wind gets too loud to hear my tunes, and of course there’s the sunburn.
“But … I’ve missed you. So, if you’re a ragtop now, then I guess that’s what I’m driving. All that matters is I’ve got you back.
“So, I’ll make you a deal: you keep on being the most badass car on the road, and I’ll stock up on the sunblock. We’ll deal with the rest as it comes.”

And I could read it just fine. No worries.

Thank you for telling me it was legible. I really was worried I would give people headaches trying to read my writing there.

(he's really gonna have to look after those freckles, though :P)

I considered drawing Dean's freckles and Sam's little moles. Maybe I'll do it next time. :)

I was hoping people would get that movie reference. It's an old film, but it's still a classic. :)

During the WAY too brief time in my life when I actually owned a drop top, that movie was the main reason I wanted one in the first place.

Totally worth it.

And I thought the words were fine. I had no trouble reading them.

It's really reassuring to see so many people say they didn't have to squint or change the zoom level on their screen or anything. Thanks. :)

I must say, I think being a convertible kinda suits Baby; I'm glad Dean's finally coming round to seeing the benefits of it.
This is a fabulous addition to the community - can't wait to see the final panel :)

I'm just glad this community is open to all kinds of Mini love. Thanks. :)

(I could read everything just fine, btw.)

Thanks for letting me know you could read it.

My high school friend had a convertible, so I am familiar with convertible hair. :D

I can't speak for you and your friend, but for me, the convertible hair was totally worth it. Of course, I wear an Afro that barely moves, so there's that.

Oh by the way, Dean's speech was fine, I could read it perfectly and the artwork itself is as always fantastic, especially seen as you ended up doing re-writes!
Please don't feel the need to say sorry to us, we are enjoying this, I am enjoying this monumentally and quite frankly I feel blessed to have a member of the comm willing to go to such lengths and hard work in order to join in *hugs*
Thank you for taking part, I really appreciate it :) And remember,t his place is meant to be fun hun, don't go beating yourself up about stuff when you know, we really love seeing these! ♥

You're right, I probably am being silly. I almost feel like I have to make up for not actually buying these dolls, or for having more fun with them this way, by making my contributions as perfect as possible. I also tend to beat myself up when I take on a creative project, because all I can see are all the ways I could have made it better.
You guys impress me - you take these little vinyl figurines that are stuck with one pose, one set of clothes, and one facial expression, and manage to do all sorts of inventive things with them. I couldn't do that. I'm going all out just trying to keep up with you guys. ;)

I do love it when the strips come together and they make sense or are funny, never knew I had the capacity for such silly but hey, we learn something new every day :D

was well again right?

- O-oh... jealousy, I hear you traipsing...^^
*lolz*
...And how quick our dear Mr Grumpy was melting, finally, hehe...^^
*giggles about image*
So yeah, it looks like Dean already forgave you, dear. Thank you again for all your effort, portraying your Minis this gorgeous and lovely way.
- Also I do appreciate it that you repeated Dean's "bonding" above again. My old eyes say thank you too. ;)
*purr**purr*
