They are delicious -the crumpets, that is. ;-) The dough is maybe a little heavy, but hey, it was my first time (up to a month ago, I didn't even know what crumpets were)
I had to bake crumpets myself since they aren't sold anywhere near I live (english muffin yes, crumpets got me "whaaat?" from the two bakery I visited ;-)
Dean and me, we put TONS of butter on them and it was delicious!!! My husband and Sam really enjoyed them with marmalade.
Congratulations Etoile and the minis! I am so surprised they made it to being photographed though, with Those two in the house I'm sure they would've been half eaten ;) ♥
Well, there were some huh... samples that didn't make it to the picture because they were all mishaped. You know what? Dean doesn't care about the shape of a crumpet as long as it's saturated with butter. ;-)
Well, that's what happened. I had JJ and milly explain to me what crumpets were, then I had to have some but there is no where near where I live that's selling them so to that point I was like... obsessing over crumpets and I decided: well, girl, you want crumpets, just bake them.
They look scrumptious, I'm glad your mini boys (and mini baby) were rightfully impressed. And I have to say, I'm totally with Dean here - hot buttered crumpets truly are ambrosia from heaven :)

Dean keeps asking for another batch (or is it my inner voice? I don't know anymore) :D
